My dearest Sunshine!

How have you been? Has your week been productive? I hope all things are well with you. This past week has been quite a rollercoaster of emotions. What will Jess talk about this week… hmmm after much deliberation, I have landed on the topic of ‘potential and relationships’

If you are anything like me (I recommend not to be) but if you are, wearing your heart on your sleeve is such an early 2000’s thing to do. Don’t be naïve enough to show everyone how you wear your heart on your sleeve too. To quote Raye ‘Fallin in love is what stupid girls do, don’t be a stupid girl’ I may sound a lot more pessimistic than last time. Fall in love girlie pop, don’t you dare fall in love with potential.

What is potential? It’s the ability to develop into ‘something’ in the future. WHY DO YOU BASE YOUR JOY ON SOMETHING??? It is not like this something may entirely be bad or good. Don’t hope on potential. The hardest lesson I have learnt is to put your head over your heart. That soft vulnerable side that I oh so lovingly open up to people, gets poked with knives, prodded with words and to finish of salt in the wound, and the same people end up laughing at you for being so stupid.

Another fun fact. No matter how hard you fall. Pick yourself up, because no body else will. Life loves giving you hard lessons it takes your heart a lot more tries to understand before your brain does. If you do see potential in someone or something look at said potential, give it a once over and let it go sis. You cannot fix them. You are not Bob the Builder. Stop chasing red flags just for the high. Equate your emotions to the waves. They rise, they fall. Its what lies under the surface that matters. In other words, investments are subject to market risks. Do read all red flag related documents clearly before falling down the rabbit hole.

You may ask, what happened to happy Jess? The Jess who encouraged you to love? Well there is only that much a sorry, can do. At some point the skeletons in my closet were bound to catch up with me and they did. Wearing your heart on your sleeve does not get you anywhere. Harden your heart, sharpen your mind and focus on your inner light. Nothing will ever beat the love and investment you put into yourself.

Potential sucks. Unless its in you.

Don’t mistake the sweet talk for anything other than what it is.

Don’t go back to past mistakes, let them be in the past.

Don’t swallow your feelings.

Your fear of the unknown, shouldn’t push you to do dumb things now.

Not all frogs are princes, sometimes they are just frogs.

Don’t go kissing the swamp searching for your prince.

Most of all

LOVE YOURSELF FIRST!

The Latest Chapter Well I’m back. Let’s get into this fools charade shall we?  It has been a while since I have written to you. Apologies are in order. I've taken a break from working.      It has been a bit of a wild ride since then. A few months back I realized I needed a change. Clueless as to what that change would have to be, I started to analyze every aspect of my life. Verily a bit lost...

  My dearest Sunshine,      It has been a fair while since I have written to you. A lot has happened this past month. So much has changed. As we reach the end of this year, I cannot help but be filled by a sense of peace but also loneliness. I have won some, I have lost some but the journey has certainly been rewarding. Took my wins alone, swallowed my losses by myself and hey I did survive. It was a year filled with lessons on adulthood, friendship, responsibilities and growth. I have also realized I have become Carrie Bradshaw in the past weeks, where I relate to her on so many levels. Be it the writing or the incessant love for shoes and getting stuck in cycles of emotional unavailability and wasting my time. Work has been rewarding in a way that drives my ambition. You live once, die a little, live a little.

  Alright, it's been 4 months. I know I promise consistency, I did not say I would commit to it though. A lot has happened so let's get to it? A new job came this July, it was unexpected but I did take the chance to expand my horizons and what not. and it's safe to say I am happy with where I am. I have a lot to talk about, a lot on my mind in the sense that I  have forgotten how to process things, I have grown so numb now all that i can choke out is laughter for all the situations I find myself in.  First things first, WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE GETTING MARRIED??? like is there some sort of pact going around to marry as quick as possible? Am I the only one who finds this odd? Like I am touchwood completely happy with myself… like i am content, satisfied even to my hearts content.
